One of our absolute favourite brands (Smeg) has teamed up with another one of our long-time loves (Dolce & Gabbana) to create what is possibly the most stunning celebration of creativity, passion and art.
Smeg is in Northern Italy, midway between Milan and Venice, an area with a rich heritage of design, art, architecture, fashion and culture. With beauty and inspiration at every turn, unsurprisingly the region has generated a globally acclaimed manufacturing industry. Smeg along with Ferrari, Ducati, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Barilla, amongst others, are recognisable the world over for inventive design and technological might. For 70 years Smeg has lead the way in appliance design and manufacture. With the belief that customers should be able to express their personality through design. This philosophy gave rise to Smeg’s long history of collaborations with world-leading architects and designers. Creating aesthetic collections to suit different styles and tastes. Smeg is the only appliance brand to offer genuine design choice, allowing customers to select appliances like works of art.
During the Milan Design Fair, Salone del Mobile di Milano, Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana unveiled their latest collaboration – Sicily is my Love. Like the FABs, the small appliances are also adorned with Dolce & Gabbana’s signature decorative style.
In a spectacular example of design elevating everyday convenience to a true work of art. Each piece is lavishly decorated in the bold colours and decorative motifs of Sicily. The history, culture, cuisine and beauty of the Sicilian landscape are captured. You can see this in the rich, bold hues of fiery red and orange. Which depicts artwork inspired by the traditional hand-painted Sicilian cart and the island’s puppet theatre.
Each beautifully rendered appliance is a true masterpiece of both style and technology.
Toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers. All decorated with gold lemons, citrus fruits, prickly pears and bright red cherries.
All symbols of an aesthetic inextricably associated with Sicily. Home to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Italy and its cuisine of which Smeg has always been an interpreter of excellence.
